A Spring Market Update from Our Sales & Lettings Teams
“When all at once I saw a crowd, a host, of golden daffodils…and then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils.” - William Wordsworth
Jon Bird, Head of Lettings
“The lettings market continues to go from strength to strength, driven by almost impossibly low levels of stock and a decent level of demand. Prices in the area are at an all-time high as residents of Chelsea, Kensington and Notting Hill turn towards Brook Breen and Brackenbury for more space - and what is still perceived to be better value. It’s not uncommon for young families to relocate to Brook Green from the Royal Borough but this trend is now mirrored by a much younger tenant profile – perhaps the exciting prospect of Olympia is already having an effect! We have yet to see what houses will be available this summer but if anyone in Brook Green is considering a move to the country and renting out their house then Summer 2023 might be a great time to make the move and cash in on a potentially excellent lettings market!”
Paul Cosgrove, Partner
“What an unpredictable few months we’re having! Despite the turmoil and ups and downs of markets, interest rates and forecasts there is a strong core of motivated buyers and in particular cash buyers who want to buy and get on with their lives. Time does not stop for any man and we can all be too clever in trying to predict and circumnavigate both the economic and practical issues that we all face. The market has softened a little but there remains steady demand - and indeed much stronger demand - for the turn key, well presented properties due to the continuing escalating costs of building/refurbishment and of course the hassle factor! House sales continue to be stronger than the flats which makes purchasing a flat/pied-a-terre more of an opportunity given that the prices achieved since Covid have been generally more competitive.”
We are energised, confident and optimistic that as Spring moves to Summer, market confidence will grow as the macro-economic factors settle.
