Our homes are always in our heart
Winter certainly takes a toll on the exterior of our homes and we have seen lots of flaking paint (probably a result of the hot summer of 2018 and the cold winter) so it’s time to start considering those little repairs and improvements to maximise your sales price. With spring approaching, the exterior becomes more important than the interior as it’s the first thing a buyer will see and in some cases is the factor that makes them want to continue with the viewing or not – it’s all about ‘kerb appeal’. It’s so important to eliminate every potential ‘negative’ and not give buyers the option to negotiate the price down.
You don’t need to break the bank – think of it as an investment with every penny spent bringing a return. It may simply be a case of repainting some flaky windowsills and sweeping away the leaves but whatever it is, it’s worth doing! It’s probably too early to be looking at planting but you can certainly cut the grass (or vacuum your ‘London lawn’!) and cut back any dead plants.
We’d be delighted to advise you on those little things that make an immediate difference – do give us a call – we’re always happy to help.
For buyers - given the paralysis which is the direct result of the lack of clarity on the Brexit negotiations, there are certainly good buying opportunities out there at the moment so drop us a line to discuss what you are looking for.
Our Lettings Team has seen a strong start to 2019 and we are delighted to introduce Michael to the team. Michael is from South Africa and he’s decided to settle in London – we wish him the very best at Finlay Brewer.
While our International team is enjoying the Nice Carnival and the Menton Lemon Fest, I will be braving the elements in Brook Green and Shepherds Bush! So if I don’t hear from you before, I’ll be here again next month, when the spring will be well on its way, probably!
